Vegan Red Massaman Curry

A rich and fragrant vegan massaman curry with deep flavors from a blend of warm spices like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and star anise. This Thai curry has a savory coconut milk base that's been simmered with tender potatoes, carrots, onions, and roasted cashews or peanuts. Red chilies and curry paste give it a mild kick of heat, balanced by notes of sweetness from palm sugar. Hearty baked or pan-fried tofu provides plant-based protein to make it a satisfying and nutritious meal. Garnished with fresh cilantro, basil, and a squeeze of lime juice. The complex and robust massaman sauce coats each bite with layers of aroma and umami deliciousness. Serve over steamed jasmine rice or with roti or naan bread on the side. A veganized version of the classic Thai massaman that is dairy-free, meat-free, and full of rich flavor.

Nice dish

This was a nice dish overall, but I didn’t think it had much of an authentic massaman taste. The flavourings were of a standard curry, rather than the traditional massaman flavour profile. It was also a little more oily than I’d like. Was a nice dish but I wouldn’t order it again.

Nice curry overall

This was a nice curry overall, but there were a few things I wanted to mention. In terms of it being a massaman curry, I couldn’t really tell as the flavour profile was more of a standard curry. I did find the dish to have a little too much oil too. But I must say I did enjoy it, and the fact it was vegan did help. The vegan ‘chicken’ was actually very nice. Overall it was nice, but not sure I’d order it again.

Delicious and Heartwarming

This is a really good curry and fantastically vegan! We really enjoyed the meal and have ordered repeats for our upcoming subscription.

Wasn't sure if I would like this but it was fantastic, would not know it was vegan.
Full of flavour and nicely filling.
Lovely.

We loved this and aren't even remotely vegan. I didn't realise it had plant chicken in it when ordered but it wasn't too bad actually. Id be OK with just a veg curry but I'd also still get the again!
