Meet Lisa

My Mum was an amazing chef and taught me how to cook. My food story began when I was a songwriter, our studios were in a remote part of Kent with nowhere to buy food so I cooked for everyone. After 20 years of writing pop songs I decided I wanted a career in food and I was offered a chef role at Jamie Oliver's cook school but decided to set up my own at home. My business grew into recipe developing and writing articles for local London newspapers.

My speciality is Family Friendly Asian Fusion

What is your favourite dish to eat and why?

Japanese tempura prawns, mini tacos and small sharing plates. I get terrible food envy so I like to eat something from everything on the table!

What is your favourite dish to cook and why?

Fresh fish tacos with a spicy Tamarind sauce and mango salsa or anything chargrilled on the BBQ with flatbreads, salads and lots of dips and marinades. I love colourful dishes with lots of different elements going on to make a dish really fun to eat.

What is your proudest cooking memory?

The Hackney Gazette featured a full page interview on me when I launched my cook school which I was really proud of. Also the time I had to cook in front of three Jamie Oliver chefs, that was pretty daunting, they took my dish away to try it and discuss, which was a hideous 10 minute wait, but when they came back and said they loved it I was thrilled. Cooking and sharing food makes me very happy and my toughest audience is my two teenagers!
